Abstract

The features of thermal processes in high-speed turning of heat resistant nickel alloy tools of superhard materials and ceramics. At high speeds, more than 10 times higher than the rate of carbide cutting tools are observed qualitative changes in the cutting process. Theoretically and experimentally established that these changes occur in the process of deformation, the actions of temperature sources and chip formation. We propose a method to determine the optimal speed for the conditions of high speed turning.
