Finite amplitude waves (FAW) motion in a pipeline with simply shaped local restrictions (LR) is investigated. Calculations are carried out based on one-dimensional models and the data on total pressure recovery factor ?(MT) for LR obtained under stationary conditions. The results in terms of pi(t) at certain locations are compared with the measured data. Close correspondence is shown, approving that typically a good validity is provided when the models and methods discussed are applied to relatively long FAW in non-branched pipelines consisting of relatively long pipes and restrictions.Downloads
