Application of the Modular method in modeling and designing air-breathing engine combustors

Abstract

The Modular method in modeling and designing airbreathing engine combustors,  which is based on representation of combustion chamber as a set of functional elements (modules) is offered. On the basis of the above approach the design systems КАМЕРА and Afterburner have been developed for gas-dynamic and thermoanalysis of combustion chambers and forming their pattern. The general description of the system is given and the main system components are considered. Multydisciplinary system implantation is motivated. The results of numerical simulation of real combustion chambers, comparison of calculated and experimental data are given.
