Abstract

Ultra-fine grained structure formation in carbon steels contained 0,2%C and 0,45% under severe plastic deformation by torsion at temperatures 20oC and was investigated. In both steels, homogeny microstructure with the size of crystallites of 100–200 nm forms at the room temperature, while localization of deformation takes place in peripheries of specimens those results in the inhomogeneous structure along the diameter. Severe plastic deformation induces an increase of of material. Whereby the values of microhardness of specimens deformed at 400oC higher by 2,5 time in comparison to one deformed at room temperature.
