Abstract

A method for digital signal equalization at the transmission side of communication channel is considered, which allows due to fractional-spaced approach to implement distortion compensation on a predetermined frequency interval. The problem of finding an efficient pre-equalization bandwidth is performed from the criterion of minimizing the residual intersymbol interference. Experimentally obtained dependences are presented and analyzed between bit error rate (BER), coefficient determines the amplitude of the signal at the equalizer output, and the pre-equalization bandwidth. The variants for combined application of fractionally-spaced pre-equalization with adaptive filtering, OFDM and spread spectrum are proposed.
