The covering method for measuring locality of programs memory usage

Abstract

Introducing a new method for measuring locality of programs memory usage, basing on previously proposed method for analyzing program efficiency through the study of memory access profile. This method bases on covering memory access profile with the grid of rectangles and allows you to learn a single measure for the spatial and temporal locality. There are experimental results for a set of common programs and benchmarks and analysis of locality of this programs memory usage, basing on the results.
