Markov birth-death chain in reliability models of technical systems

Abstract

Markov birth-death chain and analytic formulas for steady-state probabilities of states, mean time of passage from one given state to another state are observed. Reliability model of system with set of identical repairable elements, given failure threshold, with or without emergency shutdown after reaching failure threshold, several particular cases, analytic formulas for reliability indicators and calculation examples are also provided.
