Abstract

The method for predicting the thermal fatigue durability of gas turbine blades using a four-term deformation criterion based on the results of direct finite element modeling of cyclic thermomechanical loading processes. In computations the improved models of inelastic deformation of mono- and polycrystalline superalloys are used. The results of thermal fatigue tests of samples of various designs are analyzed. A methodology for using the results of thermal fatigue tests for the determination of the thermal fatigue strength of gas turbine blades from polycrystalline and single crystal superalloys has been developed.
