Abstract

The development results of 3D numerical thermogas dynamic simulation of the non-stationary heating process of the internal combustion engine piston in the ANSYS CFX CAE system are presented in this paper. Physical experi-ments were first carried out on a specially made motorless stand, in which piston temperatures and the gas-dynamic parameters of the blown air piston were measured. The measurement results of the physical experiment were compared with the simulation results. As a result of the data comparison it was found that the developed model-ing methodology showed a qualitative and quantitative coincidence with the results of motorless tests. The maxi-mum relative error of modeling does not exceed 3%.
