Abstract

This article proposes a method for approximating the characteristics of gas turbine engine (GTE) compressors, as well as a method for changing their representation for subsequent use in CAE systems. The purpose of this study was to increase the efficiency of processing test results, as well as to increase the reliability of mathematical models of the GTE. It is proposed to approximate the characteristics of GTE compressors using the ellipse function specified in the polar coordinate system. A method of transition from the analytical form of representation of characteristics to a tabular form is also proposed using the numerical method. The proposed approximation method has been successfully tested on the characteristics of an aircraft compressor.
