Abstract

The activity in the study of new materials with reduced dimension has led to the emergence of interest in two-dimensional mono-element structures such as monolayer phosphorus, arsenic, antimony and bismuth, known as two-dimensional pnictogens. As the last element in the VA group, bismuthene has attracted considerable interest due to its unique electronic and mechanical properties and improved stability. However, bismuthene has a large surface area due to its corrugated 2D-structure, so it is important to study its resistance to other molecules. This work presents a study of the chemical activity and features of the fine structure of bismuthene when interacting with environmental molecules.
