Abstract

The paper analyzes the reasons for the premature  decommissioning of engines due to the ingress of foreign objects (FO). One of the main ways of getting FO – a surface vortex-is highlighted. The results of mathematical modeling of the degree of influence of a number of factors on the  characteristics of vortices formed at the entrance to an isolated air intake are presented. The article presents a comparative analysis of the results of mathematical and experimental  modeling.
