Abstract

Comparative tribological tests of multilayer-composite solid lubricating coatings on Sialon were carried out. The possibilities of using them in high-temperature friction units of gas turbine engines are estimated. The coatings were obtained by combined ion-plasma processing by physical and chemical methods with plasma-assisted vacuum deposition. The tests performed made it possible to determine the nature of the influence on the fretting resistance of the outer diamond-like layer by the degree of its doping with silicon. At the same time, the possibility of using coated Sialon as a tool ceramic in the machining of high-temperature alloys of the Inconel type was confirmed.
