Abstract

Residual stress - strain state of solid and hollow cylindrical parts has been defined by the method of mathematical modeling of initial deformations in the surface hardened layer. The calculations for various variants of initial deformations given by algebraic functions distribution have been carried out using the Finite Elements Modeling method and PATRAN/NASTRAN program complex. On the base of conducted investigation it’s been established that a solid cylindrical specimen, which diameter is equal double thickness of hollow part wall should be used for the surface hardened hollow cylindrical parts endurance limit prediction.
