Abstract

A method of intensification of process of ion nitriding of titanium alloys by creating a high density plasma in a glow discharge with the hollow cathode was offered. The influence of ion nitriding and nitriding in a glow discharge with the hollow cathode on the microstructure, phase composition, microhardness and wear resistance of surface layer of VT3-1 and VT6 titanium alloys samples was studied.
