The explanation of possible usage of an active control method of secondary currents on low-pressure axial compressor impeller hub of two-circuit gas-turbine engine with afterburner

Abstract

This arcticle introduces the research result about possibility of using new active control method of secondary flows in the impeller hub of an axial-flow turbojet engine, based on injection of the working fluid from the impeller hub into the area of its interface with the blade back. According to the results of the calculated analysis, it was concluded that the proposed method of the active control allows to improve characteristics of an axial-flow compressor stage and raise stall margin on an off-design behavior. A constructive and technological solution for its implementation was suggested in construction of a low-pressure compressor of the current gas-turbine engine AL-31F.
