Abstract

The paper examines a method for increasing the work and effective efficiency of a complex regenerative cycle with intermediate cooling and heating by means of selecting the efficiency criterion and the degree of regeneration of exhaust gases. The efficiency criterion is the condition of equality of the effective efficiencies of simple and complex cycles under which it ensured that the work of the complex cycle and the temperature difference between gas and air in the regenerator increase in comparison with other conditions acceptable in terms of economic efficiency, while the degree of regeneration corresponds to the boundary of an intensive increase in the regenerator’s heat exchange surface. It is shown that it is possible to provide, using the considered method, the equivalence (and replacement during optimization) of the isothermal-adiabatic and complex cycles.
