Multicore processing features in scientific computing

Details of parallel programs adaptation for multicore processors are discussed in the article. Results of program performance on Intel Xeon 5450 (Harpertown) and Intel Xeon 5675 (Westmere) study are presented. The effects of exceeding cache size and memory access conflicts on multicores are considered.
