Abstract

The influence of low-temperature ion nitriding regimes on the structure and mechanical properties of the titanium alloy VT6 in the ultrafine-grained (UFG) state obtained by the method of equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) has been studied. In the first mode, the blank was subjected to 2 pressing cycles at a temperature of 700 ° C. In the second 6 cycles at a temperature of 600 ° C, the intersection angle of the channels was 120 °. Microhardness measurements are made for the depth of the modified layer. The microstructure was investigated using raster electronic and optical microscopy. It has been established that low-temperature nitriding leads to an increase in microhardness of the surface to 369 HV0.1, 380 HV0.1, 395 HV0.1 in short circuit, UFG (2 cycles) and UFG (6 cycles), respectively.
