Abstract

Influence of high pressure torsion (HPT) on strength and electrical conductivity of copper-based Cu-Cr alloy was studied. In ultrafine-grained (UFG) samples processed by HPT, the average grain size was determined and precipitation particles were identified. The dependence of strength and electrical conductivity on HPT regimes and subsequent thermal treatment was evaluated. The effect of dynamic ageing leading to enhancement of strength and electrical conductivity was revealed. It was shown that UFG samples can demonstrate combination of high ultimate tensile strength (790845 MPa) and enhanced electrical conductivity 8185%IACS.
