About using Ol’shteyn method for predicting off-design performance of multistage axial compressors

Abstract

Ol’shteyn method for predicting off-design performance of axial compressor stages is discussed. The COMPRESSOR simulation system for predicting multistage axial compressor maps using individual stages maps addition method and Ol’shteyn method is created. Verification of the simulation system COMPRESSOR on the individual stages compressor maps was made by authors.  The Ol’shteyn method scope expansion by circumferential velocity Mach number on middle diameter is executed. The modified Ol’shteyn method is realized in the created simulation system COMPRESSOR. The modified mathematical model of predicting compressor off-design performance  is verified on the individual axial compressor stage maps. Authors concluded that adequacy of mathematical model for predicting compressor off-design performance is increased by Ol’shteyn method scope expansion.
