Hardening of the top piston flutes of internal combustion engines by the method of spark hardening

Abstract

In this paper representations techniques and results of researches of wear resistance of pistons top flutes of internal combustion engine strengthened by the method of spark hardening (SH). It is established that method SH reduces deterioration of a piston flutes, however use of this method demands work on decrease in deterioration of piston rings.
